Meet author and journalist Drew Philp, who at age 23, decided to help fix Detroit by rebuilding a decrepit house in the inner city. He lived without electricity and heat, but the scariest and most depressing part was stepping into a community he didn’t know or understand. Drew will talk about his debut book: A $500 House in Detroit. Cocktail hour begins at 6pm w/live music; event starts at 7pm.
