The City Opera House, a lovely, unique turn of the century theater is the oldest of only three remaining historically intact Victorian Opera Houses (theaters) in Michigan. The primary objective of the Board of Directors, staff and volunteers of the City Opera House, over the last 30 years, has been the restoration of this unique public environment. With its historic ambiance the theater now offers to the northwest region of Michigan an exciting, one of a kind venue for quality arts and entertainment, heritage and educational programming, and public and private celebrations. The capital campaign, which totaled $8.5 million, is nearly complete, and we are honored and delighted to be turning our focus to providing quality programming in the downtown Traverse City Area, providing economic development partnerships with area businesses.
